Panthers on the Prowl Auction and Cocktail Party was

held September 15th from 6 to 9 pm

at Lighthouse Center for the Arts, Tequesta

The Lighthouse Center for the Arts played host to one wild night, as the Panthers on the Prowl event culminated with the auction of magnificent panther sculptures.  Over 150 friends and supporters of the Busch Wildlife Sanctuary came to admire and bid in a silent auction that included a variety of unique items.

David Hitzig, Executive Director, wowed the crowd with the surprise appearance of adorable baby panthers.  He explained the unique needs of these creatures when in the wild and took the opportunity to educate those in attendance on steps they can take to help Florida's endangered wildlife.

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Busch, event sponsors, were in attendance.  Additionally, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nicklaus generated as much excitement as did the baby panthers!  One of the panthers on display was designed with the help of patients at the Nicklaus Children's Hospital.

The crowd showed their enthusiasm  for the panther project and the meritorious works of the Sanctuary through their generosity.  The sculptures generated over $35,000 in Sanctuary donations.  Thank you to all in attendance and especially those that showed their monetary support for the Sanctuary!
